한 나라는 국민의 세금을 먹고 살아갈만큼 세금의 역할이 중요하고 그 만큼 쓰임새 또한 중요하다.
수-많은 쓰임새 중에서 흘려 들었던 문화,해외 홍보와 관련된 부분에 있어서는 나와는 상관없는 이야기인지라 흘려 듣기도 하였고 관심 자체가 없었다.
하지만 London에는 한국문화원 'Korea culture centre'이라는 공간이 있었는데 이곳은 한국 문화와 관련된 예를 들면 K-POP 수업 등을 진행하여 해외에 있는 다양한 국가의 사람들에게 한국의 문화를 알리고 전파하는 공간으로 구성되어 있다.
이곳에서 현재 한국 전통 악기인 가야금 강좌가 진행되고 있는데 첫 시작에 있어서 우연찮게 작은 도움을 드릴 수 있어서 함께 진행하게 되었다.

It's quite boring with start to talk about politic but that is necessary things for country is available to work. The Korea culture centre is located in London usually inform about Korea culture like recently famous K-POP that use the place to educate or give some information. These days the new class opened that Korea traditional harp called Kayagum. Fortunately I can join this lecture and was gave to help.

I am delighted to welcome you to the Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCC). Opened by the ＇Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism＇ in January 2008 under the jurisdiction of the ＇Embassy of the Republic of Korea＇ London, the role of the KCC is to enhance friendship, amity and understanding between Korea and the UK through cultural and educational activities.

수업은 약 10주가량 진행되고 소수정예 학생들로 구성되어 있는 다소 특별한 강의라고나 할까, 놀라웠던 점은 나이가 조금 있으신 참가자 한분이 계셨는데 이분은 현재 영국의 미국 대사관에서 근무하신다고 한다. 또한 서울에서도 꽤나 오랫동안 근무하신터라 직접 가야금 구매하셨으며 연주 또한 수준급의 실력을 갖고 계셨다.
이렇게 다양한 관심과 다양한 사람들이 모이는 이곳에서 뜻 깊은 일에 동참할 수 있었다는 만족감과 동시에 왠지 모를 씁쓸함을 지울수가 없었다. 본인은 솔직하게 국내산은 좋아한다(음식은 국내산이지) 하지만 국내 브랜드 혹은 가야금과 같은 전통 악기 등에는 알 수 없는 오래된 것, 시대에 뒤떨어진 듯한 인상을 지울수가 없다. 이러한 인식이 언제, 어디서부터 시작 되었는지는 알 수 없으나 본인도 모르는 사이에 인식을 지배하고 있었으며 더욱히 힘든건 쉽게 바뀌지 않는다는 것이다.
하지만 생애 처음 가야금 음색을 들어보고 매우 미세한 부분이지만 악기에 대한 정보를 조금 공부하다보니 이처럼 아름다운 악기가 또 없지 않나 싶다.
영국의 Tube 지하철에는 수많은 사람들이 일명 버스킹이라 불리는 길거리 공연을 하고 돈을 버는데 하루는 저 멀리서 들리는 하프 음색에 끌려 한참동안 지하철 내에서 구경을 했던 일이 있었다. 그때 이 음색은 정말 어떤 악기로도 따라갈 수 없는 깨끗하고 청명함을 가졌구나라고 생각했는데 그것이 혹은 그보다 더한 것이 그리 멀지 않은 곳에 있었던 것이다.
본인처럼 국내 브랜드, 전통 악기 혹은 그 무엇인가에 편견을 갖고 있는 인식이라는 망상을 긍정적인 측면으로 바꾸기 위해서는 그것이 지닌 진정한 가치를 느낄 수 있는 기회가 있어야할 것이며, 그 기회를 한국 문화원에서 물론, 외국인을 위해 진행하고 있지만 대한민국 사람이라면 한번쯤 찾아가보는 것도 타국에서 자국의 소중함을 다시한번 느낄 수 있는 또 다른 방법이리라 생각된다.
This class is going to go for 10 weeks is formed with almost 10 students, Surprisingly there is a person looked a bit elderly man who has worked the USA embassy in London. In addition, He had worked quite long period time in Seoul and bought Kayagum and has a good skill of playing.
Various people and variety interesting give me satisfaction that I could join this meaningful behavior although left uncomfortable thought. I like food from Korea(that usually more safety) but made in Korea or traditional music instrument like Kayagum can feels more old, late of age that I have no idea when it being injected.
There are a number of people who have played music underground called Tube. I was attracted when I heard sound of harp. It is unbelievably beautiful sound. But more or less is near here.
This is difficult to change a person's mind who have prejudice about traditional culture. If It could be changed, It should have chance to feel the real worthy of tradition, Of course Korea culture centre gives information about Korea to foreign, but It also useful experience to feel worthy how we live good country have various culture
